BIOGRAPHY
Tim Emmett is one UK’s top extreme sports athletes. Starting out as a climber, he quickly becoming accomplished on both rock and ice, regularly finishing within the top 10 at the World Ice Climbing Championships between 2002 and 2006. In 2006, he ventured to the greater ranges of the Himalaya with Ian Parnell for his first high altitude ascent and managed to free climb a new route on the massive East Face on Kedar Dome (6840m), an achievement so significant that he received a nomination for the coveted Piolet d'or. Looking for new challenges, Tim set up new routes in Mongolia, Cuba and Sri Lanka and became a pioneer of Deep Water Soloing, a form of solo rock climbing that relies solely upon the presence of water at the base of a climb to protect against injury.

In the last few years Tim has been at the forefront ‘Para Alpinism’, a sport in which the participant climbs with a B.A.S.E-Jumping rig and, upon reaching the summit, jumps into a freefall to get back down. He is also one of the few people in the world to have piloted a ‘wing-suit’, allowing him to literally fly from the summit of a mountain, reaching speeds of 250 mph with absolutely no CO2 emissions!

In 2010, Tim has been focusing on his climbing, tackling some of the most technically difficult climbs in the UK and completing the most difficult ice-climb in the world - a 30 metre, 45-degree overhanging ice climb behind an unfrozen waterfall in British Columbia.

MOTIVATIONAL SPEAKING

Tim’s quest is to seek out extreme adventure and push the envelope of psychological and physical performance, funding his passion through motivational speaking for schools and businesses throughout the UK.  Whether speaking to a corporate audience or a group of young people, his enthusiasm for life is infectious and his presentations are as energy-charged as his life!
