Tori James is a multi-talented individual with a passion for extreme adventure in sub zero temperatures.  In May 2005 she competed in the The Polar Challenge, a grueling 360 mile race to the Magnetic North Pole. Her team, the Pink Lady PoleCats, became the first ever all-female team to complete the challenge, finishing the race in 6th position out of 16 teams, and beating all-male teams along the way! Racing through polar bear territory, across constantly-shifting sea ice and withstanding storms with temperatures of -40°C, this was a remarkable achievement.  Later in the same year, Tori became the "highest Welsh woman ever", summiting the world's sixth highest mountain, Cho Oyu (8,201m) in the Himalayas.

After such a tremendous year, Tori decided to aim even higher, and began planning an expedition to Everest. Just two years later, aged just 25, she became the youngest British female as well as the first ever Welsh woman to climb Mount Everest.

When Tori’s not living out of a tent and cooking on a stove she supports a number of youth organisations, all of which contributed enormously to her teenage years. These include British Schools Exploring Society Expeditions, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award and Girlguiding UK. Her expeditions have raised over £30,000 for Breakthrough Breast Cancer and the Prince’s Trust.

Tori is a highly motivated individual who uses her expedition experiences to motivate young people and others to achieve their own goals.

"If you really want to achieve something, it's a question of creating some building blocks and putting them together in the right order. You need to be able to see yourself achieving and getting closer to your goal. If you set your hurdles too high to begin with, you're just going to fail and your confidence will be squashed right at the very beginning. You need to start small and work your way up. If you do all those things you'll reach your goal in the end.”
