Felicity Aston polar explorer

Since returning from her record-breaking expedition to become the first woman to cross Antarctica entirely alone, Felicity Aston has been busy giving inspiring presentations up and down the UK.  People are fascinated to hear about what it takes to drag 85kg day after day across the endless ice across the equivalent distance from London to Rome.

As well as captivating the interest of the world’s media, Felicity’s story has some highly relevant lessons for business, as a leading credit card company discovered when she visited them last month.

Kenton Cool honours olympic pledge with tenth Everest summit bid

A few weeks ago, Kenton Cool left his home in Gloucestershire heading for the Himalayas.  This is pretty routine for the internationally acclaimed mountain guide, who makes his living leading clients to the summit of the highest mountains in the world.  But this time instead of clients, Kenton will be honouring an olympic pledge by taking a gold medal awarded to a member of the 1922 British Everest Expedition to the summit of this iconic mountain.

TEDxHull

The first ever TEDxHull event is being held at the Hull Truck Theatre on Tuesday February 21st.  Focusing on the theme of Beyond Limits, the organisers contacted us looking for two inspirational speakers to include in their programme.   We suggested mountaineer Andy Kirkpatrick and polar explorer Felicity Aston, both of whom have considerable experience of testing the limits of human endurance.

Mark Beaumont

Just days away from breaking the world record for rowing across the Atlantic in under 30 days, adventurer Mark Beaumont and his 5 teams mates have had to abandon their challenge after their boat capsized.

Thankfully all six members of the Atlantic Odyssey Challenge team are safe, after being rescued from their life raft by a cargo ship.  The team were taken to Gibraltar and have now all arrived safely back in the UK.
