A specialist in unsupported expeditions, Mark is the latest speaker to join our growing portfolio. His trips have included a human-powered source-to-sea journey of the Amazon River, 153 days covering 6800km by trekking, paddling and rowing from the source of the Amazon in the Andes of Peru to the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Brasil. His two-man team became just the 4th in the world to succeed and persons 7 and 8, to achieve this feat.

Mark emailed me from his current expedition to Mount Kilimanjaro to explain why he was keen to join Speakers from the Edge:

"I wished to sign with Speakers from the Edge as they represent only the best motivational speakers from the world of adventure, exploration and human endurance. With names like Kenton Cool, Simon Yates, Alastair Humphreys and Mark Beaumont, amongst others in our ranks, I would say I am in pretty good company. Not an ex-Big Brother housemate or one-time The Apprentice “motivational speaker” in sight! I reckon that puts them ahead of the majority of their competitors from the outset"

We couldn't agree more!  With over a decade of exploration and adventure to his name, Mark's passion for adventure and his ability to apply the lessons he has learned in the outdoors to help others to achieve makes him an excellent addition to our team of speakers.   As Mark explains,

“I love taking people away from the world they know, on a journey to unknown lands - be it the dense jungle of Southern Ethiopia, on the mighty Amazon River or across the globe. More than anything, I love being able to share the insights, strategies and lessons I have learned from these expeditions. When I take the stage, my goal is always the same: to give each audience member a bolstered sense of what is possible, what they can achieve.”
