Mountaineer Ian Parnell recently visited Dobcroft Junior School in Sheffield to provide an exciting focus to the Year 5's project on mountains. He managed to hold the attention of 90 nine and ten year olds for over an hour, showing slides of the mountains he has climbed and getting all the children and the staff on their feet pretending to climb at high altitude, giving them a real insight of how hard it is to breathe let alone climb on Mount Everest. The children were so inspired, a week later we received an envelope stuffed full of thank you letters! Below are just a few, and thank you to the staff and pupils of Dobcroft Junior School for inviting Ian in to talk.
If you are interested in having one of our speakers come and talk to your young people, please contact us and we will be happy to discuss your requirements with you.
