Straight from her latest solo expedition to become the first women to ski solo across the entire Antarctic continent, polar explorer Felicity Aston will talk about her first record breaking trip to the South Pole.
In 2009, Felicty led a diverse, multicultural team of ordinary women on one of the most arduous journeys on earth: a 900km trek to the South Pole. The 38-day expedition saw the 8 women, some of whom had never even seen snow before, enduring eighty-mile-an-hour winds, frostbite and daily injuries whilst skiing across the cracking ice, which revealed deadly crevasses beneath. A truly inspirational story and fascinating insight into the coldest, driest and most challenging continent on Earth.
